Our itinerary indicates a Saturday departure, two days prior to your arrival in Sydney as you cross the international dateline en route. However the programme can be operated on a daily basis.

 Itinerary

Day 1.Monday - Sydney

After clearing customs in Sydney you are soon settled into your hotel.

Day 2.Tuesday - Sydney

A Morning visit to The Australian Wildlife Park will introduce you to the famous koala. Enjoy a Highlights cruise on one of the most beautiful harbours in the world and conclude the day with a guided tour of the spectacular Sydney Opera House. (B)

Day 3.Wednesday - Sydney

Today you are free to choose the activities which please you most. Shop in the magnificent arcades of the central city, browse in the galleries, stroll through one of Sydney's many parks. We recommend an excursion to the nearby Blue Mountains to sample some of the delights outside Sydney. (B)

Day 4.Thursday - Sydney - Canberra - Melbourne

A short morning flight soon has you in the nation's Federal capital, Canberra. Enjoy a city sightseeing tour a highlight will be a guided tour and lunch at Parliament House. You join an afternoon flight for the continuation to Melbourne. (B L)

Day 5.Friday - Melbourne

This morning we have arranged a city sightseeing tour which allows you to see the highlights. See the City Square, Parliament House, St. Pauls Cathedral, the Shrine and Latrobe Cottage. Follow the Yarra River out to Mount Dandenong where you will enjoy the magnificent panoramas of Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay. This afternoon you may wish to take an optional excursion to Phillip Island to witness the unique Fairy Penguin parade. (B)

Day 6.Saturday - Melbourne - Ayers Rock

Today you travel into the vast arid interior of the Australian continent. This afternoon we have arranged a tour to the nearby Olgas mountains. On your return you will see the magnificent effect of the sun's rays as they set on Ayers Rock. (B)

Day 7.Sunday - Ayers Rock - Alice Springs

A morning tour of the base of the "Rock" offers you an opportunity to view some of the many caves and ancient Aboriginal rock drawings. Your tour concludes at the airport for your flight to Alice Springs where we have arranged a "Town Tour" to show you the highlights of this oasis in the heart of Australia. (B)

Day 8.Monday - Alice Springs - Cairns

The morning "Dreamtime" tour allows you a first hand experience of Aboriginal culture. Meet the people of the Walpiri tribe who will demonstrate their techniques for survival in a desert environment. In the afternoon you fly to Cairns, gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. (B)

Day 9.Tuesday - Green Island - Great Barrier Reef

After breakfast your launch soon has you speeding out to Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef. Walking, snorkelling or viewing through a glass bottomed boat are ways of enjoying the many colored spectacle of coral and tropical fish. Enjoy a smorgasbord lunch before returning to Cairns in the late afternoon. (B L)

Day 10.Wednesday - Cairns - Brisbane

Today you fly south to Brisbane and your city tour will include a visit to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary for a photo opportunity with the famous bear. This evening you will be hosted to dinner at the home of a local family. Enjoy some true "Aussie" hospitality and a chance to experience the local lifestyle. (B D)

Day 11.Thursday - Gold Coast - Surfers Paradise

Today we have arranged a full day excursion to the fabled beach resort of Surfers Paradise, located south of Brisbane. There are numerous activities available, or you may wish to take the opportunity to do some last minute shopping. Late afternoon return to Brisbane. (B)

Day 12Friday - Homeward Bound

This morning you fly to Sydney where you connect with your international return flight to the United States. You arrive later the same day, regaining the day lost on your southbound flight. (B)
